This full-day tour to Machu Picchu by train offers a comfortable and quick way to explore this world wonder from Cusco. With door-to-door service from your hotel, the tour is ideal for those who want to experience Machu Picchu in a short time without losing its history and beauty. It is recommended to book in advance, especially in high season, due to the demand for tickets and entrances.

The package includes entry and ticket management for the main circuits (1, 2 and 3), which offer higher access and panoramic views. In case of unavailability, circuits 4 and 5 are offered, which start from the bottom and offer fewer opportunities to capture the iconic view.

The tour begins with early transfer from Cusco or the Sacred Valley to the Ollantaytambo station. At 6:10 or 6:40 am, you will board a panoramic train, enjoying Andean views and the Urubamba River during the 1.5-hour journey. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes, our representative will guide you to the bus that, in 30 minutes, will take you to the entrance of Machu Picchu.

An expert guide will take you to the main points of interest on a 2.5-hour tour, with an additional 30 minutes of time to explore. Then, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes to rest or eat before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. The tour ends with your return transfer to the hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley.

Day 1: Cusco – Train Station in Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

Early Morning

Pick-up time: Between 4:00 and 4:15 AM directly from your hotel in Cusco. If you are staying in the Sacred Valley, please let us know on WhatsApp to coordinate. Our exclusive transportation will take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, a journey of approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Train Trip to Aguas Calientes

Upon arriving in Ollantaytambo, you will board the train that departs at 6:10 AM or 6:40 AM to the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes. During the 1.5-hour trip, you will be able to enjoy views of the Urubamba River and the Andean landscape.

Arrival in Aguas Calientes

Our guide will meet you and you will have 20-30 minutes to relax, have a coffee or buy snacks.

Bus ride to Machu Picchu

From Aguas Calientes, you will take a 30-minute bus that will take you to the main entrance of Machu Picchu, with estimated arrival between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.

Guided Tour in Machu Picchu

Enjoy a 2.5-hour guided tour of the main points of interest, entering through circuits 01 or 02 (depending on availability). To secure your preferred circuit, we recommend booking in advance.

Return to Aguas Calientes

How to access the student rate for the tour to Machu Picchu?

The Peruvian government offers discounts for students on entry to Machu Picchu. To take advantage of this reduced rate on our tours, it is necessary to meet the following requirements:

Age: The student must be under 25 years of age at the time of their visit.
Format of the student card: The card must be physical, made of plastic, similar to a credit card, with the student’s information printed (cards with stickers or different materials are not accepted).
Required information: The card must include the name of the university, student information, photograph and a valid validity date during the trip. For example, if you plan to visit in 2024, your card should not expire before 2025.

Important note: The ISIC Card is not accepted for student discounts in Peru. Make sure you meet the requirements to avoid problems when entering Machu Picchu, since the card will be verified at the entrance.

HOW TO RESERVE

Booking your full-day tour to Machu Picchu by train is a simple and safe process. We accept any debit or credit card (with an additional 2.9% fee), or if you are a customer in the United States, you can pay from a bank account without additional charges.

Steps to Reserve:

Advance payment of $180 USD
To secure your reservation, we require a prepayment of $180 USD. This non-refundable deposit is used to purchase entrance tickets to Machu Picchu and train tickets. You can also choose to pay 100% of the tour cost upfront for a worry-free experience.
Remaining balance
If you only pay the deposit, the remaining balance must be paid at our office in Cusco, at least 24 hours before the tour. You can pay in soles or dollars in cash, or by card (3.9% charge). You can also pay online with a 2.9% fee.
Full payment option
You can choose to pay in full for the tour when booking. If you need to cancel, we will refund the full amount minus the $180 USD deposit.
